English Pastor - Rev Dennis Milne

Rev. Dennis Milne

Being the son of a Pastor, Rev. Dennis Milne came to Christ at a young age. A few years later he felt God's call on his life and surrendered to Christian ministry. It was not until 1989 when he returned to school at Oklahoma Baptist University that he was able to fully pursue this calling with his Bachelor of Religious Arts degree. He graduated from OBU in 1993 and began work on his Master of Divinity degree at The Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary. Upon graduation in 1995 he and his family moved to Salmon Arm, BC, where he served as a church planter and Pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church. His ministry experiences continued as senior Pastor of Faith Baptist in Saskatoon, Associate Pastor at Grace Family Church in St. Albert, and Church Planter Pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Ministries. Most recently Rev Milne has been working with Japer Place Baptist as they began a young adult and youth ministry. He is also a Chaplain with the Canadian Naval Reserve and has served in many capacities in this position gaining experience in Christian Counseling.

He and his wife Ardell were married in 1984 and have 3 children: Alexander (Ashley); Andelina; and Madeline. The Milnes also have one granddaughter, Audrey. Rev Milne and his wife are extremely excited about their next great adventure with God, and ECBC.

Ephesians 3:20-21 tells us nothing is impossible with God. Rev. Milne lives his life by this passage and encourages all Christians to trust God to "do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine".

Rev. Peter Ng - Senior Pastor

Rev. Peter Ng

Before attending seminary, Rev. Peter Ng worked as a social worker at a school in Hong Kong for five years. In 1986 he began attending Southwestern Theological Seminary in Texas, and graduated in 1990 with a combined Master of Religious Education and Master of Divinity. After serving as an intern at ECBC in the summer of 1990, Peter Ng became Assistant Pastor of ECBC in 1991, working with Rev. Yiu. He and his wife Hanna were married in 1991, and have three children - Nathania, Johanna, and Tammy. Rev. Ng enjoys hiking, photography, and spending time with his children.

In Acts 26:19, Paul could say that he "was not disobedient to the vision from heaven". In the same way, we are called to be obedient to Christ, so that when we see him face to face we can say that we have not been disobedient. It is in this spirit that Rev. Ng was called to serve at ECBC, and he hopes to help and encourage others to walk in that same vision.

Pastor Shuquan Nie - Mandarin Pastor

Pastor Shuquan Nie

Born in 1970 in a poor village in Sichuan, China, Pastor Nie studied Physics before he attended Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia, USA, in September 2003. Pastor Nie began to read the Bible and had contact with Christians when he studied Physics in College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, USA, in September 1997. Pastor Nie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the end of 1997 in a gospel camp and was baptized on the Easter of 1998. Finished his seminary in May 2006, Pastor Nie and his family moved to Edmonton and began to serve as an assistant pastor for the mandarin congregation of Edmonton Chinese Baptist Church. The favorite biblical verse for Pastor Nie is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
