Zadok Wu emerged as the FRS3 winner.

The Mailman Delivers in Faith Rock Star 3

After 6 weeks of intense challenges, two elimination rounds, over 83562 online votes, and a live finale vote of 70+ strong, a 20 year old postal worker emerged as the Season 3 Faith Rock Star at 9:40 PM on Friday, June 19th. The finale night included the top ten leading the joint Faith / Hope / Timothy Fellowships in a worship & praise night of the top 25 CCLI worship songs of the past two decades around the world.

The night began with a presentation about some of the issues addressed during the Rock Star Camp, followed by the first half of the top 10 who were led worship in a randomly generated order. Alex Chow, who was reinstated back into the top 10 since Winnie Law stepped down from the finale, chose to sing Hosanna to begin the night. She finished in the top 5 despite having only one week of online voting. Stephen Brown in his style chose the modern hymn In Christ Alone to lead in worship. Matthias Cheung, who was a strong contender in this season picked the epic song The Stand. Matt Wong chose Once Again, which he sang also in the finale show in season 2. Chris Yip, who doubles as the camera crew in the series, finished in the top half of the competitors, and chose From the Inside Out for his selection. If the competition was still happening, his performance would have been one of the best of the night according to a few of those present. After the first half of the worship, Lincoln Ho presented copyright issues and more technical trends of the media industry, ending with a delivery of the Gospel message through Campus for Christ's Four Spiritual Laws.

In the second half, Kristen Lai led the set with You Are My King (Amazing Love). Joyce Chan followed with How Deep the Father's Love For Us. Zadok Wu then shared a little bit of his own testimony before singing another hymn Because He Lives. Amanda Yuen, who was the dark horse for much of the competition finished in the top 4 and received over 10,000 votes. She chose the Chris Tomlin version of Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone). To end the top 10 in leading worship, Calvin Kwan praised the Lord with Blessed Be Your Name.

Then came the revelation of the top 3 determined by online voting. Joyce Chan, Zadok Wu, and Matt Wong came out as the top 3. Live voting of the winner then occured, which was based on a metric of a 50% weight in addition to the online voting. Before the winner was announced, the top two in online voting, Wu and Chan, who both received over 20,000 votes respectively, received the news that both would be able to record an original album producted by Ecbico Productions. After the top 4, the rest of the top 10 share over 10,000 votes collectively. The top 3 journeys were shown on video and all three performed the unofficial ECBC benediction song May His Blessings Be With You.

Finally, after a journey of emotions, learning, growing in Christ, everglowing, and fun, Geoff Ing the winner of FRS2 had the honour of passing down his title of Faith Rock Star with a mini-shirt with Rock Star across the front. Zadok Wu won the series with just under 30% of the online vote. He made his acceptance speech, immediately followed by his winning song that was commissioned for the event which still remains untitled .

The next few months will be fairly busy for Wu as he is going on a short term summer mission to China, and speaking at a youth conference in Vancouver. Then recording for Wu and Chan's albums will begin in late summer.
