The following baptismal testimony is translated from Chinese by Agnes Leung.
Sue Hong Wong shares her testimony.
Dear brothers and sisters,
I am very pleased to share my testimony with you. I beg your pardon because my cultural background is limited. I was born to an old-fashioned family. My parents loved me. I seldom talk to people and became very introverted. Because my parents worshipped idols, I do not have much experience with other religions. After I immigrated to Edmonton, I was lucky to get to know sister Mrs. Chan. She drives me to and fro from ECBC so I can attend service. After a while, I began to understand God’s words. I remember in one of pastor’s sermon, he spoke of “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) When I heard that, it helped me a lot. I felt a lot more relaxed. I began to understand that Jesus Christ was nailed on the cross, shedding His blood, cleansed away our sins. He rose again on the third day so we can have eternal life.
Thanks be to God. Today I am baptized, becoming a member of this big family, to be a child of God, be born-again. This gift is not free; it is a great gift from God. My life from now on is totally dedicated to Jesus Christ because He is the Lord of my life. This is only through trusting Jesus Christ, a wonderful blessing.
May all glory and praises be to our true God. Thank you.
