One of the greatest gifts that God has given to us is His Word, the Bible. The Bible reveals to us what God wishes us to know about Him - His character, His will, His desire and purpose for us, His love for the people He has created, His interventions in human history. Sunday school is one opportunity to learn more about the Bible in smaller groups. English Sunday school classes are held from 11AM - 12 Noon every Sunday morning at ECBC. Our Sunday school classes are intended to be interactive and instructive opportunities to learn more about applying God's Word to our daily lives.
Everyone is invited, encouraged, and welcome to join our Sunday school classes. All thoughts and opinions will be treated with love and respect (so long as such opinions are expressed in a respectful manner); no one will be judged or condemned for thinking differently.
In 2006, we completed a process of visioning and producing a 3-Year Sunday School plan for our junior and senior high youth. In September 2006, we began implementing this 3-year curriculum. You can view the curriculum plan here. You can also look at the materials taught under that curriculum plan so far, here. The curriculum plan was devised with a desire to teach and train our youth to love God, to look at the world through a Biblical Christian framework, and to live lives that exemplify the character and purposes of God.
Currently, our English Youth Sunday school classes are as follows:
Junior High Boys & Girls meet in Room 202 (beside the nursery in the gym).
High School Boys & Girls meet in Room 102 (the library).
Youth Bilingual class meets in Room 301.
We hope to begin the process of putting together a similar long-term Sunday school plan for our university & adult classes in 2007. Currently, we have two university & adult classes. The larger one meets in Room 103 (Choir Room); the smaller one meets in Pastor Tawa's office. To learn what each class is currently studying, please contact our Sunday School Servant-Leader, Stephen Brown (hugiboo@gmail.com).
